- Since 1977 we have been supplying to the Precision Engineering Industry throughout the South of England building our reputation as a valued supplier due to our internal stability.
Continuing to invest in our people and our own infrastructure we now employ over thirty staff throughout the south and our portfolio has grown organically to encompass every aspect of tooling, workholding, metalworking fluids, precision items, ancillary maintenance tools along with abrasives.
Formed by our founder and Group Chairman Richard Pemberton, who devised the company name from his children (Jason & Emma) The Jemma Tool & Abrasive Company Ltd began life two miles away from our current head office location in Uckfield, Sussex, which was purchased in 1980.
Reflecting the changes within the manufacturing sector and with technology developing at a rapid pace, a decision was made in the late eighties to employ time served Engineers to complement the existing sales team for application support. This decision mirrored that of the tooling manufacturer’s and elevated Jemma to becoming a professional, technically competent procurement and advisory partner.
To further illustrate this change of direction and with quantum leap improvements to machining techniques and processes, our focus changed from a reliance on abrasives, once responsible for 70% of Jemma turnover in the early years, to an all round process evaluation and a diversification of our portfolio.
This led to our name change to The Jemma Tools Group Limited. Our core competence though remains; to add value to our customers business for the products and services we supply to them. Recent inclusions are industrial products and general workshop consumables to compliment our core product strengths.
