- Deburring of cast or forged parts, drill holes in sloped surfaces or contoured edges of castings etc. – these are the ideal application areas for the engraflexx EC deburring tool.
The engraflexx EC tool utilises the direct drive from the machine tool spindle in terms of rotational speed and toolpath. Its unique feature permits differences between the actual workpiece position and the programmed sequence which are automatically compensated by the milling cutter supported on flexible bearings. This allows all edges to be cleanly and evenly deburred.
The tool features a 20 mm diameter shank with a milled flat and is suitable for a standard Weldon holder or hydraulic/collet chuck, and the consumable tool is held using a precision 6mm collet which allows the use of standard deburring cutters or any tool with a corresponding 6mm shank.
The engraflexx AP deburring tool is also used in CNC machines and robots for deburring undefined edges etc, but also offers additional benefits as a high speed spindle for fine milling and drilling and for use with micro tools.
The major differences between the EC and AP models is that the AP unit is driven by compressed air, and rotates at 32,000 rpm, and the increased 8mm compensation factor of movement from the flexible spindle bearing. Otherwise all functions are primarily the same as the EC model in terms of operation for castings, contoured edges etc.
To use the AP model as a high speed spindle for micro drilling or jig grinding, simply lock off the spindle movement manually by unscrewing the outer sleeve to the stop lock position. This prevents the lateral movement of the main shaft allowing for precise use.
